IGNOU Revaluation Form, Fee, Procedure, Result

Ignou Revaluation – The Indira Gandhi National Open University provides an option for its student to apply for revaluation in case they have got failed in any subject or course. The students can also apply for it if they are not satisfactory with the marks obtained in the result.

For both June and December examination, the university declares the result after almost one and half months from the date of last term end theory examination.

The Ignou result brings happiness for some students but few of them left unsatisfied with their result. The students who got fail in any course or those who are not satisfied with the marks/grade obtained in the Term End Examination can request for re-evaluation.

The request for revaluation should be made by the students within one month of declaration of their result. The students can calculate the date of declaration of result from the date on which the result(s) are placed on the university official website: www.ignou.ac.in.

Students can apply for revaluation before 31st March for result of December term-end examination and 30th September for result of June term-end examination.

Revaluation Fee:

The applicants has to pay the Ignou revaluation fee @Rs.750/- per course. The application fee has to be paid only in the form of Demand Draft. The fees in the form of Cash will not be accepted.

They have to make the Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘IGNOU’ & payable at the City of Evaluation Centre. Therefore, if any student has to apply for revaluation fo 4 Courses, then he/ she has to make demand draft of Rs.3000/- (Rs.750 x 4 ) and send it along with application form.

How to apply for Ignou Revaluation?

There are many students who are not satisfied with their results but they are confident enough that they have written good answers in the examination. These students can apply for revaluation of their answer scripts for the related course.

Students have to fill up Ignou Revaluation form prescribed by university to apply for revaluation. The soft copy of the form can be downloaded from the university official website at www.ignou.ac.in or it can be cut from prospectus.

The students should correctly fill up the prescribed application form and send it along with prescribed fee in the form of Demand Draft to the Evaluation Centre. The address of evaluation centre is mentioned on the second page or back of application form.

The prescribed application form should be enclosed within the envelope. The applicants must mention the text “APPLICATION FORM FOR RE-EVALUATION OF ANSWER SCRIPTS” on the top envelope.

Students need to send the duly filled-in application form to the address mentioned in the form except for CPE & DPE programmes. For the revaluation of CPE and DPE programmes answer script(s), the applicant need to send the form to the concerned regional centre.

The students can fill up the re evaluation form only for theory term-end examinations and not for Practicals/Lab courses, Project, Workshop, Assignment and Seminar, etc.

A sample prescribed application form with rules and regulations can be obtained from the university official website at www.ignou.ac.in or it is also enclosed in the student handbook & prospectus.

Revaluation Result:

The university takes almost thirty days from the the date of receipt of application to re-evaluate the answer scripts. After evaluation, the revised marks or grades will be communicated to the students via post.

The Ignou revaluation result is also displayed on the university official website at www.ignou.ac.in. The minimum time required for re-evaluation is 30 days from the date of receipt of application but it may take more time.

So, you have to keep patience and in case of any issue please contact student evaluation division. After evaluation, the better of the two scores of original marks or grade and marks or grade after re-evaluation will be considered and will be updated in the student’s grade card.

Note : The Indira Gandhi National Open University reserves the right to change the rules from time-to-time. So, keep visiting the university website for latest rules and updates. However, the latest rules will be applicable to all the students irrespective of the year of Registration.

    • Please download the IGNOU Revaluation form and read out the instructions carefully. The university has clearly mentioned about the last date to apply for revaluation under the instructions.
